Supporting Our Neighbors
OrkinServes is an employee volunteer program designed to help take care of our communities. Each year, Orkin branches across the country set aside time specifically for giving back in their local areas. Since the program started, Orkin employees have donated hundreds of hours of volunteer service to residents and organizations in the U.S. We believe in people helping people and showing small acts of kindness for our customers and communities.
Helping Save Lives
Every two seconds, someone in the United States needs blood. The American Red Cross® works tirelessly every day to supply 40% of the nation’s blood supply, collecting roughly 13,000 blood donations to meet the needs of patients across the country. Each donation can save the lives of up to three people.
At Orkin, we believe Mosquitoes Don’t Deserve a Drop™, which is why we partner with the Red Cross to help save lives on two fronts. Since 2020, Orkin has donated $620,000 to the Red Cross in addition to encouraging the public to donate blood to the organization.
Our goal is two-fold: to help boost our country’s blood supply while protecting people against the public health threats of mosquitoes.
Employees of Branch 778 partnered with Waco, Texas Habitat for Humanity whose mission is to help build homes for those in need. The team donated their time painting the exterior of the home.
Employees in the Phoenix, AZ-metro area provided food relief in the community by volunteering with the Midwest Food Bank including sorting and repackaging over 4,500 bags of Cheez-Its.
Orkin Marketing Team partnered with the United Way to assemble 200 snack pack kits which will be donated to the Foodbank of Northeast Georgia and the children they serve.
Employees of Branch 612 in Green Bay, Wisconsin, hosted a barbecue stand supporting the Old Glory Honor Flight, whose mission is to send veterans to Washington, D.C.
Education that Matters
Orkin’s longstanding partnership with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has fostered multiple public health and educational initiatives involving pest-related health risks. Orkin and the CDC have collaborated to produce educational materials like the hidden home threats checklist to help consumers prevent pest-related diseases in and around the home, as well as the Guide to Dangerous Pests brochure. We have also partnered on annual “Train the Trainers” broadcasts, where CDC specialists educate hundreds of Orkin pest control Pros across the country on pest-related diseases. Find pest-specific disease information from the CDC in Orkin’s Pest Library.
